My post last week, entitled 'In the thick of it!' could not be a more apt description for the events of this week, with the filming process in full swing. However, a month long break is beginning on Wednesday July 27, and not concluding until Wednesday August 24, allowing the cast and crew to have a break and go on holiday.
I myself will travel to Marseille, and visit Los Angeles, the home of film and where I hope to live in the future, between August 9 and 13. As a result, this will be my last blog post for almost a month, however, when the filming is back in full swing and we have all returned from our holidays I will inform you all,

The long process of making a film, from pre-production to post production to release is at it's midpoint: principal photography begins in 3 weeks, and the hard work is really increasing now, as the cast and crew ready themselves for the intensive period of 6 to 8 weeks for a film lasting around 140 minutes.
I have been contacted by people asking where the completed film will be available to sale/preview etc. and the answer is that I wil be posting the trailer and selected preview clips on this website, whilst the DVD will be available for sale on amazon.com.

We have begun rehearsals for 'Seems L ike Teen Spirit'. A full read through of the script will occur next week, at an as yet undecided date, to give me an idea of any changes that are required, as well as the general pacing of the film.
We having already begun rehearsing individual scenes, and once this has been completed my main focus will become the lighting and sound production aspect of the film. If everything goes to plan, I would hope to begin filming in September 2011, in view of a late December wrap.
However this still seems a long way away, and directing amateur actors for the next week is going to be an interesting journey. I end this weeks post with a quote from director James Cameron: 'The best thing for an aspiring director to do is to remove the word aspiring'.
This seems pertinent for my position at the moment, and it seems trying to make the transition from aspiring director to published director is a fun but complicated and lengthey journey.

The aspect of making 'Seems Like Teen Spirit' that I naturaly assumed would be the hardest actually turned out to be remarkably easy: I managed to obtain filming permission at The Judd School, where a large proportion of the movie takes place. This is the only public property where we need to film, so, having acquired permission for filming on private land, we are now all set to produce once my arm has healed!

Although, as I have previously stated in this blog, I have already cast my film, I am beginning to have doubts about 2 of the actors, playing 2 main characters; Jimmy Holden, the main antagonist, and David Turnbull, the secondary antagonist. I really do feel that these parts require actors, regardless of experience, who can make a character come to life, as opposed to the overacting unfortunately commonplace amongst amateur actors.
If you are reading this and wish to read the completed script, contact me on 07984 722 545, or email me at [email protected] I would greatly appreciate any offers I receive and would be very willing to work with anyone interested.
If you have any other questions about the movie, please do not hesitate to contact me on the details listed above, as I will be very willing to respond to queries, in an effort to try and raise the profile of the film.

Production of Seems Like Teen Spirit has been delayed until September at the earliest. Why? My arm was broken. By Ellis Domenger-Boyce, who plays Jimmy Holden in the film! It is clear the villianous character he portrays in the film has seeped into him, hopefully this 'method acting' will produce an excellent performance!

After 2 months and a lot of work, I have finally finished the script for my debut feature, tentatively titled 'Seems Like Teen Spirit'. Due to the almost non-existent budget, I have to do pretty much everything myself, so I will direct, act, write, cinematographise and produce Teen Spirit, but the one thing I do need is actors, which I am thankfully in no short supply of. Here is the casting for the main roles:
Simon Willis - played by Simeon Walsh
Peter Nicholson - Elliot Burns
Jimmy Holden - Ellis Domenger-Boyce
David Turnbull - Seb Pettitt
Richard - Rhys Owen-Conway
The film is about Simon Willis (Simeon Walsh) being stabbed. This occurs at the beginning of the film, and the story is then told in a series of flashbacks recalling how he and Peter Nicholson (Elliot Burns) set up a newspaper, ultimately leading to Simon being stabbed in search of news.
Everyone involved is very excited about the project, and I will be uploading images as production develops, and then I will upload the film piece by piece to this website, as well as looking to send it to film festivals in early 2012.
